The CNA Refresher course is geared for the CNA that has not met their required hours of clinical practice in the state of Kansas within the mandated twenty-four months of being certified.  The course will consist of five hours of didactic/classroom training and five hours of clinical laboratory training. 

The refresher course will cover:

  • The CNA's roles and responsibility
  • Meeting the resident needs in the areas of communication
  • Infection control and prevention
  • Safety
  • Residents rights
  • Activities of daily living (ADLs); bathing, feeding, elimination, skin care, etc.
  • Positioning, transfers and mobility
  • Recording vital signs
  • Personal care and grooming
  • Bed making (occupied and unoccupied)
